In art history, the name Impressionism originated from Claude Monet (1840-1926)'s "Sunrise". An art critic who saw Monet's work said that the painting looks incomplete, and that it "painted the sunrise impression" in a sneering sense. Impressionism comes from this word. Impressionist artists observed the change of light in a place and tried to capture it entirely in a canvas. Monet's signature work, "Suryun," is also a series of works drawn by observing the scenery of the Giverny Pond he created over decades.
